MASSENA — The threat of thunderstorms kept AmVets Post 4 from holding a Memorial Day ceremony in its traditional location at Veterans Memorial Park. Instead, guests filled the fire station next to the park to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day

“This is a little out of the ordinary. We’re having it in the fire hall because they predicted a bad storm here and the wind has picked up,” AmVets Post 4 Commander James Gardner said.
