I personally prefer somewhere in the middle. Technical skills are much easier to train than attitude, but you do probably want someone with a good foundation. Every organization is so unique that having extensive experience doesn't always mean it will translate directly - you'll likely need to do technical / procedural training regardless so go with a good attitude and cultural fit.

Depends on how much time and bandwidth you have to do the training. My guess is very little so I would opt for someone that doesnโt need it.

Helping creative professionals build the success and the life they want, making work they love โข coach โข writer โข editor

All creatives need to promote our work, if we want to build a business around it or attract an audience for it. So social media can be a useful tool. It can also be a massive drain on your time, energy, attention. as well as feeding those inner critics telling you that you're not good enough, successful enough. So stop chasing likes, and question if you really need it at all. If you do, learn how to use itโโwithout it using you. It's pretty obvious from my numbers here that this isn't my area of expertise, but it comes up in almost every coaching session I do with creative professionals. So I would love to know your thoughts on this! And any tools or resources you use to be better at it, without being a slave to it.#socialmedia #creativebusiness #thecreativelife #writers #artists #photographers #designers #musicians #performers #directors #filmmakers #producers #stylists #makers #creators

I ask companies to share their BRoll with me for news segments almost every day. This is something very few companies actually have at the ready in a way that's useable for me/us in the news. Here are five top tips to get your gadget/product covered right: #1. WE NEED NATURAL SOUND. NO MUSIC. You know how you see video and people's lips are moving, or there's the sound of a car driving by, etc? We need all of that sound to tell a story. Stop stripping out the sound. It's awful for us. #2. We need to see your product/gadget in the most natural way possible -- real people using it the way we expect to see it in real life -- not in shiny hyped-up ads. #3. NO TEXT over any of the video. If you put your chyrons/lower-thirds, branding all over it, it's useless to us. #4. If there are people talking (soundbites) DO NOT have them say the name of your company in every sentence. It's not natural, it's cheesy overbranding, and it doesn't feel authentic. #5. Your video should quickly SHOW AND TELL -- what the product does and why it matters. Answer: "the way it works is..." and show us. No BS. BONUS TIP: If you don't have BRoll for news -- hire someone to do it for you -- but make sure they have NEWS experience. So many PR agencies try to upsell you on this and tack on their charges to what the person doing the job charges -- and then don't get you what we actually need! (Okay, stepping back down off of my soapbox...) #pr #gadgets #technews #fyi #video #branding #experience

I spent my Saturday asking strangers to take their pants off.And they did!Rapper E-Money, Kevin (videographer) & I hit the streets.Asking strangers to try on jeans and give their honest reactions. 1 day resulted in a ton of value:- Content of people experiencing our jeans with positive vibes- Someone writing an impromptu song for the brand- Footage of a bodybuilder, skater, and biker- Dozens of potential hooks & ads to test- Copy ideas from things people said- Ideas for future shoots- Product feedback- A music videoIt was the most fun I've had making content in a while.I can't wait to cut these into paid ads and see how the music video turns out.I'd love to do more of this kind of thing. Does your brand need help creating this style of content? My DM's are open! #marketing #contentmarketing #dtcbrands

As a voice actor, this is what I do when itโs slow.๐As I mentioned in the video, last week was chaotic in a good way. Lots of happenings. This week has been the opposite. A bit slower but that doesnโt mean there isnโt anything to do.From updating my website to direct email marketing to networking on LinkedIn and backing up all my files on my external hard drives those are all important and necessary things for me to do to keep moving my business forward. And for my sanity and employee satisfaction I need to plan a Christmas party, right?Oh, and yes, that is a sloth on my sweater. B-roll is essential for every brand - even just 45 seconds! In addition to documenting your product - it's important to cover any events to "service out" to news organizations. Many news organizations don't have the bandwidth to send to cover your event, but that doesn't mean they don't want to cover it! Some news organizations have policies against using outside video but those are rare cases. Many news videographers freelance on the side, charging $1000-$1500 for a day rate. The best part of capturing video is all the other things you can do with it! Social posts, digital ads, annual recaps, etc.We LOVE to do this for our clients and are super transparent with the cost....oh and yes we do all the editing in-house ;) We've got plenty of samples to share.

We agree with The New York Times! Fan edits have become a staple of online ๐ป life. The videos essentially function as unofficial trailers, often going viral! ๐ฆ We know that these fan-made trailers can be just as effective as branded ones so we've often folded that into campaigns. Why follow a trend when you can set the trend? ๐ช๐ป๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ WATCH: https://lnkd.in/gPEc6Uem ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ป Here's a great example from #ResidentEvil, where we executed an effective multi-title campaign that included a brand channel, creators, fan reposts, and a custom effect, including the "fancams of all fancams." #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #creatoreconomy #influencermarketing #usergeneratedcontent #ugchttps://lnkd.in/ge_nMvgB
